Atlanta Mission Trip
During the week of July 14th-21st, members of Loris FBC will be going on a mission trip to Atlanta, GA. We will be helping a church planter run a sports camp for inner city children. Most of these children come from broken and tremendously dysfunctional home situations. Many of them have never been to church and have no concept of what Jesus Christ did to save their souls.
The purpose of this sports camp is to gather K-8th graders from a particularly rough neighborhood of Atlanta for a week of competitive fun so that we will have an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them (and their extended families!). The cost per child for the 6 day camp is just $30. This pays for each child to have breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day. It also pays for all of the bibles and child-centered gospel literature that will be given to them. Even at this low cost, most of the children living in this area will not be able to afford to attend the camp.
Therefore, if you cannot personally go to Atlanta with us, would you be willing to sponsor one or more children so that we can minister to them? Your donation of $30 or more would allow a child to have fun, as well as get physically and spiritually fed for an entire week.
After we return from this mission trip, I promise to give you a report on all that God accomplished through this sports camp. I am confident that He is going to do many great things…not the least of which…will include saving the souls of many of these precious neglected children from the inner city of Atlanta. Thanks for caring enough to be a huge part of seeing this happen! (2 Corinthians 9:11-15)
