Dear Loris First Baptist Church Family,
Your Deacons and Staff met last night to pray about and discuss the possibility of reopening our Sunday Morning Worship Services for public attendance. Although we are all aware of the high number of COVID cases in the Loris Community, because of the present uncertainty of whether or not this virus will ever stop being a threat…as well as knowing the eternal importance of being a church that worships and fellowships together, we have unanimously agreed to reopen for public worship services beginning this Sunday, July 26th. Because babies and children seem to be the least affected by this virus, as well as seem to be very low threats at even spreading it, we will also provide nursery and Children’s Church for all worship services going forward at this time.
To keep everyone safe during our public worship services, we are asking our church family to please practice appropriate social distancing and safety protocols to the best of your abilities. We will be providing masks for all who attend and encourage you to wear them or bring your own. Hand sanitizer and Kleenexes will also be provided. Of course, we will continue live-streaming our worship services for those members in the high-risk categories for this virus that do not feel safe to attend.
As your Senior Pastor, I know that we are all frustrated by this pandemic and the effect it is having on our ability to fellowship and do ministry in our community as we are used to. But we must never forget, our loving and compassionate God is sovereign over all difficulties we face, and His Holy Word instructs us to respond to all trials with perseverance and JOY, knowing that He has great purposes for all that He allows His church to go through. So let us honor Him with our faith and endurance, along with our private devotions and prayer, as we prepare to reopen our church this Sunday, July 26th…to praise and worship Him together as He deserves. Thank you in advance for your prayers and faithfulness, as I hope to see all of you soon! - Pastor Louis
