Getting the Gospel into Loris Middle School!
Believe it or not, but many of our Middle School students (6th – 8th grades) have never had the gospel explained or even shared with them. They have no idea that God created them, loves them, and sent His Son (Jesus Christ) to die for them so that they could have an eternal relationship with Him. This is sad. But now we are doing something about it. We started “Release Time” classes in the Loris Middle School in January of 2022. Release Time classes just means that we can pick up students from the school on a bus, take them off campus for one class period, teach them evangelistic Bible doctrines, and then bus them back to school.
We are working through an organization called “Coastal Schools Ministries” which has been teaching students the Bible in both Middle Schools and High Schools for over 20 years and they are helping us here in Loris.
If you would like to continue to see Middle School students reading and learning about the Bible (and ultimately, Jesus Christ!) five days a week here in Loris, then please begin praying and helping us with the necessary funds. These funds pay for two teachers ($16K a year salaries), the necessary insurance coverage, taxes, administrative needs, etc. To make a financial donation to this incredible outreach ministry, just write a check payable to Loris FBC and include “Coastal School Ministries” in the memo.
