Ministries and Activities

Encouraging Annie

Annie Blackburn feels that God has called her to visit, write cards, make phone calls, etc. to encourage nursing home and hospital patients, homebound members, sick or down-trodden members, and people in our community  who need encouragement.

Outside Events Coordinator

There are many quality conferences available to Christian women across the state and nation.  Patti Sanders will connect women with events and help organize the planning for attending these ministries.

Women’s Bible Study

A Bible study is held each Tuesday morning, 7 AM, at Mama Maecee’s restaurant on Main Street. Pat Piver leads this Bible study entitled: Women of the Bible: Lessons Learned.

Women’s Book Club

A book club for the church and community is being organized. If you are interested in reading various authors and topics, this will be a good way to enjoy the activity with friends. More  information will be coming soon.

Women of Focus

WOF is a ministry which is led by many volunteers who invite the women of our church and community to quarterly gatherings with these purposes:

1. to entreat women to worship through prayer, praise, and study;

2. to evangelize women by presenting the Word of God;

3. to equip women for service in  ministry and missions through Bible studies, conferences, special events, mission activities, and ministries;

  4. to encourage women through fellowship.

Women’s Missionary Union

WMU is an auxiliary of the Southern Baptist Convention that seeks to educate and involve women, girls, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Loris First Baptist supports many local, state, and world-wide mission projects and missionaries around the world under the leadership of Babb Fowler.

Women’s Newsletter

Jan Vescovi will produce a monthly newsletter that will inform women of new and on-going

ministries and activities in the church and community.

 This church has a history of women offering their talents and time to serve God in countless ways. If He is calling you to participate in one of these or to establish a new ministry, the church is eager to support you in your service.

NEW MINISTRY to LIFEGUARDS

The WMU and Men for Christ are

participating in a summer lifeguard supper

ministry, coordinated by Waccamaw Baptist

Association. Roger Cox and Ronnie Todd

prepared a delicious barbeque meal with all

the trimmings. Volunteers from our church

delivered, served, and ministered to

approximately 140 lifeguards at Myrtle Beach

First Baptist gymnasium this past Tuesday. Our

Local Missions Committee was generous in

helping with funding. I want to thank all the

individuals who have helped make this new

ministry event possible.

As our student summer missionaries continue

their contacts with the lifeguards throughout the

season, let us all pray that seeds will be sown for

harvest unto the Lord.
